Look forward to four days with knowledge, inspiration, and networking! From April 21–24, 2026, we once again gather veterinarians and veterinary nurses for this year’s VETWeek at Hornstrup Conference Center near Vejle. You can expect a week with:

Across all four days, you can tailor your own learning journey by choosing between three courses per day across different clinical areas. The courses are taught in both English and Danish led by highly skilled instructors who combine strong academic insight with practical relevance.

April 21 | Pain Management and Local Anesthesia
Master local anesthesia and pain management with Johannes Fogh. This course will equip you with the skills to confidently perform nerve blocks, manage pain for acute patients, and effectively use CRI. You'll also gain the expertise to make safe decisions regarding overdoses and ensure optimal pain relief in your practice. This course is developed, and organized by Salfarm.

April 21 | Endocrinology in Practise
Master the everyday challenges of endocrine patients in just one day. Get a practical, case-driven approach to diagnosing, treating and monitoring Cushing’s, hypothyroidism and Addison’s disease – made for real clinical practice. This course is developed and organised by Dechra.

April 21–22 | Behaviour & Emotional Wellbeing
Learn how to recognise and support the emotional and behavioural needs of dogs and cats in everyday practice. You’ll identify key behavioural indicators, manage common challenges such as fear and separation-related issues, and use pheromones, nutraceuticals, and medication with confidence. Each day ends with an interactive Q&A session to help you apply your new knowledge in the clinic. This course is taught by Sarah Heath and is developed and organised by Ceva.

April 22 | Success with Dermatology, Otitis and Allergy Patients
Looking for a more structured and successful approach to dermatology cases in daily practice? This course provides a practical framework for confident decision-making in everyday dermatology and otitis cases. This course is developed and organised by Dechra.

April 22–23 | Optimizing your diagnostic laboratory
This course covers topics such as improving sample quality, managing workflow to spend less time in the lab, leveraging technology to evaluate results quickly, IDEXX innovations in the veterinary laboratory. The course is developed, and organized by Idexx.

April 23 | Senior Dog Challenges
Learn to recognise the most common issues in ageing dogs — from sensory decline and chronic pain to separation-related problems and cognitive dysfunction. Get practical tools to support senior patients and guide owners with effective management, training, nutraceuticals, and medication. This course is taught by Pernille Blok Risum and is developed and organised by Salfarm.

April 23 | Orthopaedics from Puppy to Adult
Get a clear overview of musculoskeletal development in puppies and how early movement, training and management shape lifelong function. You’ll also explore key orthopaedic conditions in young and adult dogs, including hip dysplasia, elbow disease, cruciate injuries and patellar luxation — plus current diagnostic and treatment options such as arthroscopy, total hip replacement and dynamic TPLO. The course is developed, and organized by Boehringer Ingelheim.

April 24 | Feline Dental Diseases
Get a clear and practical overview of the most common dental conditions in cats – from early detection of oral pain to effective treatment strategies in everyday practice. This course is developed and organised by Eickemeyer.

April 24 | Case-based Ophthalmology
Do you want to feel more comfortable looking at ophthalmic patients in your clinic? Let’s make eyes less scary and talk about corneal ulcerations, uveitis, glaucoma and get the 6 important steps to remember in the neuro-ophthalmic exam. Learn and have fun in interactive sessions with a lot of clinical eye cases! This course is developed and organised by Eickemeyer.

April 24 | Sharpen your Cardiology Skills
Improve your ability to stay calm and maintain an overview when presented with a patient with a heart murmur or signs of cardiac disease. Learn what you can assess and manage in your own clinic or hospital — and what should be referred. You will also gain confidence in the anaesthesia of cardiac patients and get a short introduction to echocardiographic techniques through a practical demonstration. The course is developed, and organized by Boehringer Ingelheim.

Meals during the day
Your course fee includes generous catering throughout the day. You can look forward to:

  • Afternoon snacks with cake and fruit

  • Coffee, tea and chilled water available during the day

Evening meals & overnight stay
If you choose to stay overnight, your stay includes:
  • A delicious 2-course evening menu served at the conference center

  • Coffee and tea available in the evening

  • A generous breakfast buffet the next morning

Accommodation
Hornstrup offers modern single rooms, all with:
  • Private bathroom

  • A comfortable 140 cm bed

  • The option to upgrade to a double room (subject to availability)
Overnight stay is booked together with your course registration, and you will receive all details by mail some weeks before VETweek beginns.
